Roma charged by Uefa

Roma celebrate their 3-1 win

Roma have been charged with ‘insufficient organisation’ following trouble at their match against Chelsea.

Fireworks were set off in the UEFA Champions League game at the Stadio Olimpico on 4th November while there was also fighting between fans prior to kick-off.

A Uefa spokesman has confirmed the charge and the case will be heard by a control and disciplinary panel on 11th December.

The Stadio Olimpico has been selected to host this season’s Champions League final, although Uefa have previously expressed concerns over crowd trouble.

There has been some speculation that the showpiece could be taken away from Roma.

Roma beat Chelsea 3-1 at home and are well placed to go through to the last 16 of the Champions League as winners of Group A.
