Foals turn it around against Bayern

A spirited fightback by Borussia Mönchengladbach put an end to Bayern München's recent victory roll.

Borussia battled back from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw, preventing the champions making it six wins on the trot in the process.

The result leaves Bayern three points adrift of table-topping duo Leverkusen and Hoffenheim. For Borussia, it was a valuable point gained in the struggle to escape the lower reaches of the table.

Toni kicks it off

Luca Toni (21.) and Franck Ribery (65., pen.) seemed to have put Bayern well on course for what would have been only their third win at Mönchegladbach in 21 years. But goals from Canadian striker Rob Friend (79.) and US international Michael Bradley (81.) - his first in the Bundesliga - turned the contest on its head late on.

After a slow start in front of a sellout crowd in the Borussia Park, Bayern made the most of the first decent opening to come their way, Philipp Lahm cutting the ball back for Toni to knock in from close range, claiming his fifth goal of the season.

Late rally

Borussia briefly upped the tempo in response, with Bradley seeing a shot blocked for a corner by Lucio (22.). After that, the better chances in the remainder of the half fell to the visitors.

The real action in this one was saved for the final quarter of the game however, with Gladbach's never-say-die attitude earning them a point when all seemed lost.
