Crespo: Out of favour at Inter
Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo admits that speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid has come as a surprise.
Real are rumoured to have set their sights on the Argentina international as a replacement for the injured Ruud van Nistelrooy.
And with Crespo finding first-team opportunities hard to come by at Inter, conjecture has suggested that Real could consider a bid in the January transfer window.
But the 33-year-old insists he has yet to receive contact from Real, and that he is shocked by the stories.
“All this is a surprise for me,” Crespo - who has also been linked with Roma - told AS. “I swear I know nothing.”
Reports in Italy also suggest that Real have targeted Juventus striker Amauri in their efforts to fill Van Nistelrooy’s long-term void.
