Games like that are fun

He is phenominal: Pal Dardai has been a Hertha player since 1996. During that time the one asset which has set him apart from many others is reliability. Many players have come and gone, but Dardai's name was mostly on the team sheet.

Last weekend, the Hungarian veteran celebrated his 250th Bundesliga appearance. He is only 30 games away from cracking the age-old record held by the Berlin legend Michael Sziedat, who wore the Hertha shirt 280 times.

Question: Pal Dardai, congratulations on reaching 250 Bundesliga appearances…

Pal Dardai: Thanks very much, but I would like to thank the team and the fans. It is games like the one against Hoffenheim which make playing the game fun. But I am lucky with anniversary games. My 200th game was a win over Gladbach and I scored that day. Last Saturday Voronin scored for us.

Question: You are only 30 games away from the all-time Hertha appearance record held by Michael Sziedat.

Pal Dardai: That question is often put to me. All of those players like Sziedat, Beer or Horr were Hertha legends. I will not put myself under any pressure and don't follow such statistics. Yes, If you add together my appearances at club and international level, it is a lot of games, so I can't be that-bad a player.
