Saha was the Toffees’ hero at Upton Park on Saturday, scoring twice and creating another as the Merseysiders romped to a 3-1 win after being a goal down with 10 minutes remaining.

The French striker has been a success in his early days at Everton, proving a valuable asset off the substitutes’ bench as he gradually returns to full fitness after an injury-riddled end to his Manchester United career.

The 30-year-old was, interestingly enough, chased by West Ham during the summer, but he opted instead to pen a pay-as-you-play deal at Goodison Park.

Saha has no doubt that his decision was the right one, and he is hoping to bag plenty more match-winning braces as David Moyes’ men push for a return to the European fold.

He said in The Sun: ?The move to West Ham didn?t happen but I made a great choice, which is the main thing. I have no regrets at all.

?It?s hard to predict how we will do but I hope to be very close to the top four. We have the team and are now playing better.

?It would be nice to get 20 goals ? that is a good target.?
