Jose denies Adriano rift

Adriano: Improved attitude

Jose Mourinho has insisted that he has no problem with Adriano despite leaving the Brazilian out for a fourth successive game.

Adriano has been omitted in recent weeks for repeatedly turning up late to training, while reports have also suggested he stayed out late at a nightclub.

Mourinho has noticed an improvement in the 26-year-old’s attitude over the past few days but still did not include him in his squad for Sunday’s clash with Udinese.

The Inter Milan boss has now told Adriano that he will only return if he continues to work hard.

“I don’t have a problem with Adriano,” Mourinho told reporters.

“I will call him up when it is the moment to do it. Adriano will be sad and angry about my decision.

“He must continue to work and live like he has done this week. Then he will play again.”

Inter are joint second in Serie A, while they have yet to book their place in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League after being held to a 3-3 draw by Anorthosis Famagusta in midweek.

However, Mourinho is not worried, adding: “There have been individual errors but no overall defensive problems.”
