Di Carlo replaces Iachini

Di Carlo: New man in charge

Chievo have sacked coach Giuseppe Iachini and appointed former Parma boss Domenico Di Carlo.

Iachini guided Chievo to promotion from Serie B last season but they have made a poor start to life back in the top flight.

They have won just one game all season and Sunday’s 3-0 loss to Palermo left them third from bottom with six points from ten games.

Club bosses have now decided to act and have dismissed Iachini ahead of their next match against Juventus.

“Chievo Verona announce that Giuseppe Iachini has been relieved of his duties,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“Coaching the first team will be entrusted to Domenico Di Carlo.”

Di Carlo was sacked by Parma in March, two months before their relegation from Serie A and less than a year after he was appointed.
