Double injury blow for Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels will be out for around four weeks after tearing the outer ligament of his right ankle in Sunday's game against Bochum.

A CAT scan carried out on the 19-year-old U-21 international in Duisburg on Monday confirmed the diagnosis. A scan of BVB striker Alexander Frei in the same clinic revealed a similar injury, club doctor Markus Braun said: a partial tear of the outer ligament in the right ankle. Dr. Braun estimates the 29-year-old Swiss international will be out of action for about two weeks.

“Kuba” operation

Midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski in the meantime underwent successful surgery for his broken nose in Dortmund on Monday. Borussia coach Jürgen Klopp hopes the 22-year-old Polish international will be back in team training by Thursday.
