Zarate: Good form
Mauro Zarate is calm about his future, his brother and agent Sergio insists.
The Argentine, who spent the latter part of last season on loan in England with Birmingham, has been a huge success since his summer move to Lazio.
Zarate has fired home six goals and is one of the top-scorers in Serie A.
However, he is still on loan from Qatarian side Al-Sadd - although Sergio expects a permanent deal to soon be done.
“There is no hurry,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“[Lazio] president Lotito told me they will sign Mauro permanently from Al-Sadd.
“And they will do this before the end of their option on him.”
The Biancoceleste have until April to finalise a permanent deal for Zarate - who is attracting interest from around Europe.
Zarate also revealed that Lazio’s city rivals Roma passed up the chance to sign the striker.
“We didn’t get an answer from the Giallorossi, but we didn’t get an answer and then Lotito arrived and he had no doubts so Mauro went to Lazio.”
