Luca Toni may miss out on facing off against his former club Fiorentina in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The FC Bayern forward was unable to take part in Sunday training after bruising his ribs in the matchday 8 victory at Karlsruher SC.

Klose and Ribery match fit

Toni had to be substituted five minutes before the break on account of the painful injury. He now faces an intensive treatment programme aimed at getting him up and running by Tuesday.

On the upside for Bayern, Franck Ribéry and Miroslav Klose look certain to be available against Fiorentina. Like Toni, both players picked up knocks and had to go off in the game at Karlsruhe.
