Ranieri: Standing firm
Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri has dismissed claims of a crisis after being given a vote of confidence.
Ranieri’s position has become the focus of intense debate in the Italian media after Juventus lost 2-1 at Napoli on Saturday evening.
The club’s chief officer Jean Claude Blanc has backed Ranieri to continue for the time being, with Juve having slipped to 12th in the Serie A table.
However, despite the team’s current poor run of form, Ranieri is confident he is the man to turn the Old Lady’s season around.
“It’s not a crisis,” insisted Ranieri to the Italian media.
“I feel sure in myself. We will face, and we will overcome, this moment.
“Despite the defeat (at Napoli), I liked my side. We must rediscover the mentality we had last season which allowed us to do what we did.
“I don’t feel that I am under discussion.”
