Patrick Owomoyela had been on the books of Werder Bremen until the summer, now he returns with Dortmund. bundesliga.de talks to him.
bundesliga.de: Patrick Owomoyela, you've overcome a torn muscle. Will you make the squad for the game in Bremen?
Patrick Owomoyela: I think so, everything else would be a disappointment. I had my own pre-season after I tore a muscle four weeks ago. I worked a lot physically, and I'm feeling really well. Of course I still have to find my rhythm. And I will only reach 100% once I've got a few matches under my belt.
bundesliga.de: You left Werder this summer. How did you settle in at BVB?
Owomoyela: I settled in right away. In private life everything went well as I've found a flat now. The training facilities are top drawer. The stadium is great and we have a young team that is eager to play good football. Additionally we have a coach who works really well. The only negative thing so far was my injury.
bundesliga.de: At least you had time to get to know the Dortmund mentality…
Owomoyela: Yes, that's really different here. Werder do have a lot of fans, but it's even more here in Dortmund. Wherever you go you're confronted with Borussia, and if you don't support Borussia, then it's one of the other local clubs. There's nothing else, it's madness - really!
bundesliga.de: What are the differences between Jürgen Klopp and your former coach Thomas Schaaf?
Owomoyela: Jürgen Klopp is a very communicative person. He is extroverted, but in a very positive way. Thomas Schaaf is more introverted, but not negatively. He is less communicative. For our young team Jürgen Klopp is better simply because he's closer to the team.
bundesliga.de: Will you give him advice about Werder?
Owomoyela: I surely know one or two things about Werder. But there are people on the coaching staff who are able to analyse Werder even better.
bundesliga.de: Are you still in touch with former team-mates?
Owomoyela: I'm on the phone with Torsten Frings or Per Mertesacker from time to time. I'm also in touch with Tim Borowski, who is playing for FC Bayern now.
bundesliga.de: Is it a special game for you?
Owomoyela: Of course! It's not long since I left Werder. I'm looking forward to the fans and the Weser Stadium. I'm not shy of returning.
