England head coach Fabio Capello has lamented the lack of time he can spend with his players, stating that the last time he linked up with his squad was one month ago. Stating that should there have been an issue in need of resolving it could have taken a week at club level.
“Managing a [club] team, you can resolve a problem in a week. Here you have to wait a month to speak [again] with a player,” Capello said on ITV1 programme England Expects.
“To take this team to the next level this team need the confidence to play every game like the last game,” he said.
“The one thing I would like to change is to have more time with the players, and more games.”
England host Kazakhstan on Saturday October 11.
