Giovinco: Expecting to sign soon
Juventus starlet Sebastian Giovinco is expecting to resolve his future with the club in the not too distant future.
The 21-year-old, who was linked with a move to Arsenal last month, is yet to agree a contract extension with the Old Lady.
Giovinco played a key role in Juve’s 2-2 draw with BATE Borisov on Tuesday and it is such form that has been attracting interest from elsewhere.
However, rather than think about life away from the club, the attacking midfielder believes he will put pen-to-paper shortly.
Surprised
Giovinco has been surprised by all the personal attention, stating he has only been focussing on winning a place in the team.
“There is no problem. I’ll sign soon,” he said.
“For now I am only thinking about winning a place in the team. It was a surprise to play.
“We lacked an understanding in midfield but this will come by playing together.”
Value
Giovinco helped team-mate Vincenzo Iaquinta score both goals on Tuesday and the striker believes the youngster should be retained.
“To have him on the field changes things a lot,” Iaquinta stated.
“He puts some great balls in the middle which we attackers need. He is also a great player.”
