Zarate: Lazio hit
Lazio president Claudio Lotito has confirmed the club will look to sign Al-Sadd striker Mauro Zarate on a permanent deal.
Zarate is currently on loan at Stadio Olimpico and has impressed during the early stages of his career in Serie A, netting six goals so far this season.
Reports in Italy suggest Lazio would have to pay Al-Sadd €12million (?9.5m) in order to secure the 21-year-old Argentine’s services, and Lotito is confident of sealing a deal.
He told Rai TV: “I plan to sign him permanently. There are no problems.”
Zarate spent the second half of last term on loan at Birmingham City and netted four goals in 14 Premier League appearances.
