Rams set to land Prijovic

Pride Park: Ready to welcome new arrival

Aleksander Prijovic’s protracted move to Derby looks set to be completed this week.

The Serbian striker has been waiting on international clearance in order to finalise his switch to Pride Park.

The Rams have now agreed a compensation package with the teenager’s former club Parma and the necessary paperwork can now be pushed through.

Prijovic agreed to join Derby in August, but saw confusion over his registration prevent him from officially joining the Championship club.

The Swiss-born Serbian U19 international started out in his homeland with St Gallen, before moving on to Parma at the age of 16.

His contract in Italy expired at the end of last season, but Parma believe they are partially responsible for the player’s development during his fledgling years.

Complicated

“Parma, therefore, feel they are entitled to compensation,” Derby’s chairman of football Adam Pearson told the club’s official website.

“It is complicated and it has taken a long time to get to the bottom of the matter.

“Now we have come to an agreement with Parma over the level of compensation but that will have to remain undisclosed.”

Derby supporters will now be hoping to see the towering 18-year-old in action for their reserves in the coming weeks.

The Rams are set to offer Prijovic a two-year contract and regard him as a hot prospect for the future.
