Chinedu Obasi returned to Germany a couple of days ago with an Olympic silver medal in his baggage, having helped Nigeria reach the final of the football tournament at the Beijing games.
One of his first ports of call, however, was at the premises of Hoffenheim club doctor Pieter Beks - to check up on the injury that kept Obasi out of the decider against Argentina.
“Fit again as soon as possible”
A thorough examination revealed the 22-year-old forward has a torn fibre in the lower right fibia. he is not likely to be out for long, but will certainly have to take things a bit easier for the next few days.
“I'm a bit disappointed of course that I couldn't play in the final because of the injury. Now, I just want to get fit again as soon as possible and help my team in the Bundesliga”, Obasi said.
