Munatri: In positive mood
Sulley Muntari is comfortable with the fact that he was not Inter Milan’s first choice signing this summer.
The Italian giants had made Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard their No. 1 transfer target, but turned their attentions to Muntari when it became apparent that their efforts to lure the England international away from Stamford Bridge were in vain.
Despite his new employers acknowledging that they were actively pursuing other options prior to his arrival, Muntari insists that he is delighted to have been handed an opportunity to play in Serie A.

“Jose Mourinho told me that if the club is unable to sign Lampard then he wants me,” the Ghana international told skysports.com.
“I understand that I am second choice but it does not weigh on my mind.
“Lampard remains a big player, but it is me that is at Inter and I want to do well with this team.”
Mourinho
The former Portsmouth man is also looking forward to working under Mourinho, a manager given a glowing reference by Munatri’s international team-mate Michael Essien.
“He told me only good things about him,” he said.
“But, he added that you don’t mess around with his tactics or you will spend your time on the bench.”
