Hamburger SV have signed striker Mladen Petric from Borussia Dortmund in a deal that sees Mohamed Zidan move to BVB.
Petric has agreed terms on a four-year deal through to June 2012. The 27-year-old Croatian international made 29 Bundesliga appearances last season for Dortmund, who signed him from FC Basel in 2007.
HSV president Bernd Hoffmann said, “We're very happy with the acquisition of Mladen Petric. He's proved his class already, both in the Bundesliga and for his country.”

“In Mladen, we've signed a player who can be used in a variety of roles up front, and one with a nose for goal as well. We're confident that he will improve the quality of our team”, sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer summarised.
Petric will be officially unveiled on his return from Croatia's match against Slovenia in Maribor this coming Thursday.
Mohamed Zidan is meanwhile making his way to Dortmund in exchange. The Egyptian international forward made 21 appearances for HSV last season, netting twice. “We wish Mohamed all the best at Borussia Dortmund and in the future”, Beiersdorfer said.
