Drogba: Happy to stay at Chelsea

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba insists he will see out his contract at Stamford Bridge despite speculation over a big-money move to the continent.

The Ivory Coast international had been expected to leave after being sent off in last season’s Champions League final and has been linked with AC Milan, Barcelona and Inter Milan this summer.

But the 30-year-old former Marseille marksman is contracted to Chelsea until 2010 and has committed his immediate future to the Blues.

“I have always said that I am very happy at Chelsea,” he told France Football. “It’s a great team with great players and a great coach.

Going well

“Everything’s going well here, I have two years left on my contract and I will spend them at Chelsea.”

Drogba had told the same magazine last October that he wanted to quit Chelsea following the departure of manager Jose Mourinho.
