Mutu: Future resolved
Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu has revealed his delight at signing a long-term contract with Fiorentina.
The Romania international ace had been linked with a summer move to Roma, but is now tied to the club until the summer of 2012.
Although Mutu is less than happy over some of the events that have transpired this close season, he is thrilled the whole saga is now behind him.
“I’m happy that I’m staying. I said all along that I wanted to stay,” he told the Italian media.
Concerns
“I’m happy it’s ended in the correct manner, although I’m less satisfied with how the situation developed.
“A month ago I said what I wanted and that was to stay with Fiorentina for life.
“Although it was a boost for the club I didn’t get the reply I expected, which angered me.
“I’ve got a good feeling about president Andrea Della Valle. He’s come in and kept his promises.”
Mutu has confirmed he was contacted by Roma in the summer, although he never agreed to join the club.
“I did have contact with Roma, but I never said yes to them,” he concluded.
