The knee of Arminia Bielefeld goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez was the subject of extensive examinations on Monday.

The diagnosis: the South African has suffered a severe bruise which makes him a major doubt for Bielefeld's Bundesliga opener against Werder Bremen on Saturday.


“Really annoying”

“That's really annoying”, said Fernandez, who picked up the injury when he fouled Durlach striker Zimmermann in the DFB Cup 1st round win.

“Spiderman” was able to parry the resulting penalty, but he had to be substituted afterwards.
