Minnows hope to upset giants
Fichte Bielefeld, Hansa Lüneburg or ASV Durlach - the minnows hope for a sensation in what will be the match of their lives.

The 1st round proper in the 66th DFB Cup brings several clashes between amateur clubs and star-studded professional teams.

Seventh-flight amateurs

Fichte Bielefeld, the club from the lowest league still involved in the competition (seventh flight), hope to succeed in their “mission impossible”.

“We're blatant underdogs. But we don't approach the match saying that we've already lost”, coach Mark Sawkill says ahead of the match against Mönchengladbach.

Borussia coach Jos Luhukay speaks for all Bundesliga coaches when he warns that “this is no longer a test match, we won't get any presents!”

Pfullendorf eye another sensation

Eintracht Frankfurt's quest towards the Berlin final starts at SC Pfullendorf, and the Regional League side have already eliminated Arminia Bielefeld in 2006.

“They are human, too. Our chance may be one or two per cent, but we want to convert it”, SCP coach Walter Schnecks announces.

Difficult task for HSV

Hamburger SV arguably have the most difficult tasks of all Bundesliga clubs when they travel to 2. Bundesliga new boys FC Ingolstadt, coached by former Bayern star Thorsten Fink.

“If we play what we're capable of then there's no need to be afraid”, insists HSV coach Martin Jol.
