Udinese agree Nigerian deal

Udinese have agreed a deal to sign Nigerian starlet Odion Jude Ighalo from Lyn Oslo.

Ighalo has accepted a five-year contract with the Italian club, who are reportedly paying a fee in the region of 3million euros (£2.4million).

The teenage attacker joined Norwegian side Lyn last summer and is now looking forward to moving to Serie A.

“I am very happy,” Ighalo told TV2 Sporten. “This is good for me.”

Unprofessional behaviour

However, Lyn’s domestic rivals SK Brann are taking the matter up with the Norwegian FA after claiming they had a deal with Ighalo.

Brann sporting director Roald Bruun-Hanssen said: “When you shake hands and call something a gentleman’s agreement, you believe in that.

“It’s unprofessional behaviour and a breach of confidence that we can’t put a price on.

“There are no doubts that we had a deal with the player. It was negotiated in every detail and he shook my hand with witnesses present.”
