Rovers eye Bresciano

Bresciano: Set for England

Skysports.com understands Blackburn are leading the chase to sign Palermo midfielder Mark Bresciano.

Bresciano looks set to leave Palermo this summer with the Italian club open to offers for the Australian international.

The 28-year-old has dropped down the pecking order at Palermo and news of his availability has alerted a number of English clubs including Fulham, Newcastle and Blackburn.

However, Blackburn are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by making a firm move for the versatile midfielder.

Rovers boss Paul Ince is looking for new signings as he looks to bolster his squad and he is believed to be an admirer of Bresciano.

Bresciano has never hidden his desire to move to England and came close to a move to Manchester City last summer only for the move to fall through.
