The Sun claims the Hammers are prepared to offer the 18-year-old a five-year deal, despite the fact he penned a new contract in March.

Sears, currently on tour in the United States, burst onto the scene towards the end of last season, scoring the winner on debut against Blackburn Rovers shortly after coming on as a second-half substitute.

The England under-19 striker has thus earned interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, both of whom could certainly use some attacking reinforcements should their star forwards leave this summer as predicted.

But Alan Curbishley (pictured) and co are determined to hold onto their top talents and reverse the trend that has seen the likes of Michael Carrick, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole sold off to West Ham?s rivals in recent years.

Talks are set to commence once Sears returns to London with the rest of the touring squad.
