The Zenit star is expected to leave the club in the close-season after catching the eye of several top-flight clubs across Europe with his performances at Euro 2008.

Chelsea had appeared to be frontrunners in the race to sign Arshavin after Barcelona called off negotiations for the player because of the asking price set by Zenit.

But The Blues have now quashed speculation concerning their interest in Arshavin, with Scolari saying that the Zenit man is not on his list of targets.

“Arshavin is not coming to Chelsea. The stories according to which he was in London last week to meet with us are nothing but rumours,” Scolari told Sunday Express.

Despite eyeing a move to a more important league, Arshavin is aware that his valuation will most likely see him staying on at Zenit.
