The Ecuadorian midfielder has attracted strong interest from all across the continent with his efforts in the Serbian Superliga over the past two seasons.
Juventus and Blackburn Rovers are now left vying for Castillo?s signature, his agent having confirmed recently that both clubs are keen to sign the 26-year-old on lengthy contracts.
The former El Nacional man admitted he is a long-time admirer of both the Premier League and Serie A, and added that negotiations are ongoing.
“It would be nice to go to the Premier League,” Castillo told radio station La Red. “My ambition has always been to reach the best leagues in Europe such as English, Italian and Spanish leagues.
“We still haven’t closed the deal. My agent is working on it. If the chance comes I would be delighted. If not, I will continue with Red Star.
“I am working to get into my best shape and maintain my performance no matter where I play.”
