Emnes established himself in the club?s first-team last season, scoring eight goals in 26 appearances as the Holland Under 21 international secured Sparta fans? player of the year gong.
Such impressive form caught the attention of fellow Dutch sides Feyenoord, Ajax and Heerenveen, along with the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, though it now appears that Gareth Southgate is the frontrunner to secure his signature.
“There has been a lot of interest in Marvin and that is no surprise as he is a big talent,” Burleson told
Sky Sports.
“He has a couple of options available to him and he will be making a decision on his future very soon.
“Like any player Marvin would welcome a move to England and his future will be decided very soon.”
Southgate has money to spend as he looks to recruit in time for the beginning of the season in August, and he has the full support of chief executive Keith Lamb as the pair aim to avoid the disappointment of last season.
