Mourinho: Keen to get started
Jose Mourinho is expecting an ‘important week’ in his attempts to improve Internazionale’s squad.
The Italian champions have been linked with a string of potential summer signings since Mourinho replaced Roberto Mancini as coach.
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard and Roma winger Mancini are rumoured to be among Mourinho’s prime targets.
Speaking at the club’s headquarters, the former Chelsea manager suggested new arrivals could soon be on their way.
Relaxed
“It is going to be an important week for the transfer market, but we must not let ourselves get swept up in too much haste,” Mourinho told Sky Italia.
“We are relaxed, the squad is solid and we have to do things without rushing. I have confidence in this side and in my work, we do not want to be the champions of the summer.”
Mourinho, who had been out of management since leaving Chelsea last September, admits he is looking forward to working with his new squad of players next month.
He added: “I am feeling great and salute the Inter fans, but also all those who love football.
“I am relaxed and I far prefer working on the field than in an office, but it has to be done and I am very enthusiastic.
“I cannot wait for July 15, I need to get to work.”
