Spanish sports daily Marca proclaimed that the main topic of discussion at today’s seven-way meeting was how to sign Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

The triumvirate of sporting director Predrag ‘Pedja’ Mijatovic, president Ramón Calderón, and first team coach Bernd Schuster headed up the summit.

They were joined by executive director José Ángel Sánchez, director general Miguel Ángel Arroyo, technical secretary Miguel Ángel Portugal, and Carlos Bucero, a member of the sporting directorship.

Mijatovic presented a list of pending and future negotiation targets to those present, apparently with Schuster’s blessing, and Ronaldo came atop the list.

The crux of the meeting was said to regard how Madrid will deal with United if negotiations begin, indicating that Madrid remain hopeful of getting their man.

President Calderón was reportedly one of those particularly optimistic of landing the Portuguese ace.
