While Real Madrid are gearing up to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United, their chairman has hinted that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is not among their primary transfer targets.

The Ajax star has been linked with several high-profile clubs, including the English duo of Manchester United and Chelsea. But Ramón Calderón, speaking in Brussels, where he attended a formal dinner set up by the association of Real Madrid fans within the European Union, insisted he?s in the dark.

?Neither [sporting director] Pe?a Mijatovi? nor [technical secretary] Miguel Ángel Portugal have said nothing to me. What?s more, our squad is young and it has changed practically in its whole over the past two years. That?s why we?re poised to make very few changes.? Calderón said.

Huntelaar, these days in Switzerland with the rest of the Netherlands national side for the European Championship final phase, was widely regarded by Spanish media as one of the Primera Division champions? main transfer priorities this summer.

And indeedDiario AS insists that Real?s primary target is still the signing of a top-class finisher, with Huntelaar and Valencia?s David Villa on top of their wish list.
