German coach Joachim Löw has settled on his final 23 players for the EURO 2008. Three players were omitted.
Jermaine Jones (FC Schalke 04), Marko Marin (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Patrick Helmes (1. FC Köln) didn't make the final squad.
“A millimetre decision”
“It's been a hard decision for our coaching team. It was a millimetre decision, because all three players would have deserved to be part of the EURO 2008 squad”, German national team coach Joachim Löw commented.
The team were informed about the decision in a meeting at 11:30. The three omitted players will make the journey home to Germany today.
