Milan no to Kaka
Milan will not allow Kaka to play in the Olympics in Beijing later this year.
The 26-year-old had wanted to take part in the tournament in China - which kicks-off in August.
But Fifa regulations insist threat only Under-23 players need to be released by clubs as that is the official status of the Olympic tournament.
Countries competing can use three over-aged players and Kaka wanted to be involved but Milan - who are already likely to lose Alexandre Pato and Digao, Kaka’s brother to the tournament - will not let their star turn go.
Milan cited the fact that the 26-year-old Kaka is already part of the senior Brazilian national team.
“The Rossoneri club does not believe that it is fair that Kaka is included in the official games of the Brazilian Olympic national team,” Milan said in the statement.
