Parma chief 'bitter' at drop

Ghirardi: Bitter

Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi has been left ‘bitter’ after the club was relegated from Serie A on Sunday.

Andrea Manzo’s side slumped to a 2-0 loss to Internazionale, who claimed the title with the victory.

And Ghirardi has spoken of his anguish at watching the club suffer the heartbreak of relegation.

“I am bitter. I apologise to the supporters,” he told Sky Italia. “I worked a lot with the staff and we probably made a few mistakes, but I have no regrets.

“We will start in Serie B next season and we will try to show we can give a lot to football. I hope we come back up straight away.”
