Parma axe Cuper

Cuper: Sacked

Parma have stunningly sacked coach Hector Cuper ahead of their crucial final day showdown with Internazionale.

Cuper only arrived at the Ennio Tardini two months ago, but during his short time at the club Parma have won only two of their 10 matches.

The Argentine replaced Domenico di Carlo at the helm, but he has failed to convince the Parma board and they have decided to axe him.

Andrea Manzo has been promoted from youth coach to caretaker manager for the game with Inter.

Parma are facing a massive fight to avoid relegation from Serie A and are currently two points adrift of safety.

Parma face championship-chasing Inter on the last day of the season with only a victory giving them any chance of staying up.

If Catania beat Roma on the final day Parma will go down whatever the result against Inter.
