Bundesliga: top for goals
The Bundesliga offers the most goals, most chances and fewest penalties in Europe. Compare the figures for Germany, England, Spain, Italy, France.

The Bundesliga provides the most goals per game of all the top European leagues: 2.8 per game. And fans also get the most shots on goal, with one every four minutes, or 22.5 per game. The Bundesliga also boast the fewest penalties in Europe, with just 0.19 per game!


Werder Bremen in top spot

Werder Bremen scores the most goals in Europe, netting an average of 2.2 per game. That's more than Real Madrid and Manchester United who are second-placed with 2.1 per game.

Bremen also lead in goal attempts, with 15.4 shots per game followed by ManU with 14.4 and AS Roma mit 14.2.

England top for ball contact

The English league has the most ball contacts - 1239 in an average game - followed by Italy with 1214. The Bundesliga - at 1198 ball contacts per game - comes in third. But club for club, nobody matches Spain's FC Barcelona which averaged 786 ball contacts per game.

For penalties, go to Italy where there were on average 0.32 per game against only 0.19 in Germany's Bundesliga.

The best penalty takers

The most successful penalty takers are FC Villarreal in the Spanish top league. They were awarded 11 penalties in the past season and converted ten of them.
