The celebrations continue
Back down to earth, freshly-crowned Bundesliga champions Bayern München eased to a somewhat lacklustre 2-0 (1-0) victory over struggling Arminia Bielefeld.

The win will have been a welcome one for Bayern's north Bavarian rivals 1. FC Nürnberg, who are involved in a tussle against relegation alongside Arminia.

Bielefeld are now just one point clear of Nürnberg in 15th and under immense pressure going into saturday's home game with Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern chasing another record

Franck Ribery (26.) and Lukas Podolski (47.) hit the net for Bayern under the watchful gaze of incoming coach Jürgen Klinsmann. At the back, another clean sheet means that with only 18 goals against all season, remain on course to break Bremen's record for fewest goals conceded -22 - from 1987-1988.

The hosts took control from the start, with Bielefeld content to sit back and wait for opportunities on the counter.

Chances for Arminia

25 minutes in, Arminia had three chances to take the lead inside a minute. Robert Tesche saw Oliver Kahn save his first effort and Ze Roberto block his second on the line, and seconds later Markus Bollmann hit the post with a header.

A minute later, Bayern were one up. Toni put Ribery in and the French international slid the ball through the legs of the onrushing Fernandez.

No chance for Arminia

In the second-half Podolski, put in by Ribery, swiftly sealed it for Bayern. After that, what little intiative Bielefeld had shown going forward dried up, while Bayern squandered a number of chances to come away with an even more clear-cut victory.
