Moratti quashes Mancini rift

Moratti: Expects Mancini to stay

Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has played down his disagreement with coach Roberto Mancini.

The pair have exchanged words via the media following Sunday’s 2-1 derby defeat to Milan, which cost Inter the chance to wrap up the Serie A title.

Moratti stated earlier in the week Inter’s tactics had been too cautious, leading to speculation Mancini may not be in charge next season.

Inevitable

However, Moratti believes the clash was inevitable and has also confirmed that Mancini will be at the helm come the 2008/09 campaign.

“Many times a person feels obliged to reply to make clear their own position and unintentionally a situation of contrast is born,” said Moratti.

“In reality we are pulling in the same direction. Also next season? Yes I think so.”
