Wigan striker Emile Heskey has admitted the club will struggle to hold onto Ecuadorian star Luis Antonio Valencia, amid strong interest from Manchester United?
The 22-year-old winger has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer, as has Honduran team-mate Wilson Palacios.

Liverpool have also expressed interest in the Latics duo, sparking speculation of a possible bidding war between the North West giants.

Wigan boss Steve Bruce has already announced his desire to keep the pair for at least another season, while conceding it will be almost impossible to do so should they wish to leave.

Heskey is on the same wavelength, and added that he believes Valencia could certainly make the grade at a top-four club.

“Antonio’s definitely good enough for the top clubs,” Heskey said. “You can’t hold anyone back and the gaffer knows that.”

The final day of the season could prove something of an audition for Valencia and Palacios, as Wigan host the Red Devils at the JJb Stadium.

The Latics have already secured Premier League survival, and they could deny United the title this Sunday by earning even so much as a draw, should Chelsea triumph over Bolton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge.
