Vieira has no desire to leave

Vieira: Thrives under pressure

Patrick Vieira insists that he is happy at Internazionale and would gladly see out his career with the club.

The French midfielder has endured a frustrating season with the reigning Serie A champions, and has recently found himself linked with a shock move back to England.

He left Arsenal for Juventus in the summer of 2005 and enjoyed a successful first season in Italy until he was forced to move on following the Bianconeri’s demotion for match-fixing.

Dominant

Despite his subsequent troubles at Giuseppe Meazza, Vieira has once again reiterated that he has no desire to leave the club.

“I am really at ease here from all points of view,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“On a technical level we have all it takes to continue to dominate the championship.”

Pressure

Inter can clinch a third consecutive league crown with victory in the Milan derby on Sunday, and Vieira believes that the intensity which will surround the weekend fixture far outweighs anything he experienced during his time at Arsenal.

“We’re playing for the title and them for a place in the Champions League, what an atmosphere!” he said.

“I’m loving the pressure, it’s this type of match that I live for.”

Fitness

Vieria is also confident that he is over the injury problems which have blighted his season and has played down concerns over his long-term fitness.

“At Arsenal I never had any problems,” he said.

“It makes me laugh when I hear that I have to choose which matches I play in.

“I train every day to play in every match, and the more I play the better I feel.”
