Hamburger SV have ended their poor run with a 3-1 win at FC Hansa Rostock.
Huub Stevens' team had failed to win any of their last six matches, but victory in Rostock lifted them to fourth spot with 51 points.
Olic brace
Croatian international Ivica Olic opened the scoring after 18 minutes with what was HSV's first goal after 385 minutes.
Captain Rafael van der Vaart scored his first goal in nine matches with a spectacular bycicle kick nine minutes later.
Olic added a second to put the result beyond doubt six minutes into the second half before Joris Mathijsen put through his own net 15 minutes from time.
Rost in good form
Hansa face the third relegation from the Bundesliga in their history after six defeats in seven matches - and they may look back on early opportunities with regret.
Tobias Rathgeb's free-kick (7) and Gledson's header (10) were both parried by HSV goal-keeper Frank Rost.
van der Vaart screamer
HSV were much more clinical when Olic fired past Jörg Hahnel from van der Vaart's pass, and the Dutchman then turned goal-scorer with what was a stunning strike.
Paolo Guerrero (58, 60) and Nigel de Jong (62) even missed the fourth goal before Hansa got their consolation goal.
