Totti: Knee injury
Roma skipper Francesco Totti faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury.
Totti suffered a serious knee injury during Roma’s 1-1 draw with Livorno on Saturday.
The 31-year-old had to be substituted on the half-hour mark after picking up the knock.
The injury will sideline Totti for the rest of the season and Roma boss Luciano Spalletti is fearing the worst.
“With all likelihood it is a sprained right knee with damage to the anterior cruciate ligament,” lamented Spalletti.
Roma doctor Mario Brozzi admitted Totti will have scans on the injury to find out the full extent of the problem and see if he requires surgery.
“We must see if there is a partial or total lesion to the cruciate ligament, only then will we be able to decide if we operate on Totti or not,” said Brozzi.
