Werder skipper ruled out
The skipper picked up a ligament injury in his right ankle in the dying minutes.

“He will be out for at least ten days”, Werder coach Thomas Schaaf revealed.

Extra time to recover

A blessing in disguise is the DFB Cup final this weekend, giving Baumann more time to recover before Werder return to action.

The Green-Whites still play direct rivals Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburger SV and face Hannover 96 in another northern derby.
