All-action midfielder Steven Davis doesn’t see a future with Fulham and will give Rangers, with whom his is on loan, the option to sign him in the summer…
The Northern Ireland international Steven Davis is keen on making his loan-spell at Rangers permanent.
The midfielder is still somewhat miffed that Fulham let him go to Ibrox in January. The Cottagers are fighting a relegation battle while he seeks quadruple success in Glasgow.
Light Blues boss Walter Smith is keen to land the player on a permanent basis, but Blackburn are also said to be monitoring the situation.
“Once the season finishes I will go away, have a break and hopefully sort out my future after that,” Davis said.
“What I can say is that I will listen to Rangers first. If they are an option then it’s something I will consider.
“I don’t know why Fulham let me go when they did. Before I came here I’d started almost every league game, but then there was a change in manager.
“I was out of the team and when I heard of Rangers’ interest in me I went to see the new boss (Roy Hodgson). I didn’t think he would agree to the move, but he did and I’m so glad I came.
“I’ve been able to add to the quality that was already here and things have worked out well.”
Davis is preparing to face Celtic on Wednesday evening in the crucial Old Firm derby.
