Blackburn Rovers full-back Stephen Warnock believes Manchester United will not be looking forward to playing his side this weekend…
Blackburn have often been seen as a side difficult to beat, but Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United are the form side in the country right now, and on course to retain their Premier League crown.
A win at Ewood Park would go some way toward almost ensuring just that, but Blackburn have a goal of their own: UEFA Cup qualification.
Though the hope is growing ever-distant, Warnock believes they will go all out to pick up maximum points against the Red Devils, who will be uneasy against Mark Hughes’ tough-tackling side.
“They won’t fancy coming to our place, and I think once we know we’ve got our tails up and we’re disappointed with ourselves, we usually bounce back stronger and hopefully we’ll do that on Saturday and we’ll put in a good performance,” Warnock told the club’s official website.
“Anyone can beat everyone in this league and everyone knows that. Results will go our way and results will go against us for the next couple of games and we understand that.
“All we can do is our job and hopefully that will be enough.
“We’ve got four games left and we need to get results out of them.
“We need as many points as we can get and we want to finish as high as we can in the league. We need to set ourselves a benchmark for next year to beat.
“Last season was an up and down finish and we don’t want that again. We’ve got to improve on that and we’ve got to have a strong finish to the season to give ourselves something positive to go into pre-season with.”
