Bochum and Hertha are going nowhere fast in the Bundesliga after sharing the points in their latest encounter.
The 1-1 (1-1) draw at the end of a poor-quality game leaves each side now without a win in six, and both still with a niggling relegation worry.
Rudolf Skacel opened his Bundesliga scoring account in style, giving the guests a spectacular 28th-minue lead from some 40 metres out with a screamer of a free-kick. Anthar Yahia saved a point for the home side with a header three minutes before the break.
Poor first half
There was little of note on display in the first half in particular, with Bochum disappointing throughout after pressuring the guests for the opening five minutes.
Hertha picked up their game slightly after the interval, Mineiro hitting the post with a header in the 48th minute. Striker Andre Lima missed the best chance to put them in front when clean through on home keeper Jan Lastuvka.
At the other end, substitute Alexei Byelik squandered the opportunity to snatch an undeserved victory for Bochum, firing over with time to spare in the 76th minute from eight metres out.
