Serie A round-up

Juventus knocked off 10-man Milan while Palermo edged out Catania in Serie A on Saturday.

The Old Lady made a fine start at Stadio Della Alpi and they were rewarded with the opening goal on 12 minutes through Alessandro Del Piero.

Milan hit back in style with Filippo Inzaghi’s brace turning things around in the Rossoneri’s favour.

However, Juve struck on the stoke of half-time through Hasan Salihamidzic, bringing the home side back on level terms.

The game turned in Juve’s favour when Milan’s Daniel Bonera was sent off in the 66th minute.

The visitors battled on bravely and came within ten minutes of full time before Salihamidzic’s second settled the outcome.

Catania missed the chance to pull away from the drop zone after slipping to a late 1-0 defeat at Palermo.

Just when it looked like the game would finish goalless substitute Fabrizio Miccoli netted late on to secure the points.
