VfB Stuttgart have failed to capitalise on Saturday’s results. Hanover 96 held the defending champions to a goalless draw.
VfB at least extended their unbeaten run to seven matches while Hanover have recorded just one win in 2008.
The hosts had the better start in front of 45,176 fans in the AWD Arena, with Jiri Stajner going close with a diving header just three minutes into the match.
Gomez dangerous
VfB offered little, only striker Mario Gomez created some danger on his own (15, 43).
The second half was uneventful as well. Stuttgart remain sixth while 96 stay in tenth place.
Stajner suspended for three games
