Baggies stopper waits on offer

Albrechtsen: Held West Brom talks

Martin Albrechtsen is waiting to be offered a new West Bromwich Albion deal amid reports of renewed interest from Lazio.

The Danish defender’s current contract expires in the summer and he has previously expressed a wish to sign an extension.

He was linked with a switch to Lazio during the January transfer window and there has been speculation the Italian club are back on his trail.

Albrechtsen’s agent Michael Johansen says the stopper, who turns 28 on Monday, has yet to be offered a fresh deal by West Brom, despite discussions taking place.

“We are still discussing with West Bromwich Albion, but we have not been offered something serious yet,” Johansen told BT.

“There has not been any serious interest from Lazio since January.”
